The hmv Jubilee Poll results are in!

Congratulations to Iron Maiden & Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting who topped our hmv Jubilee Poll!

Over 55,000 votes were cast in the poll, celebrating the top 60 British albums & films from the last 60 years, as voted for by the public. The top titles, including the likes of Iron Maiden’s ‘The Number Of The Beast’, Trainspotting, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 and Monty Python and the Holy Grail are featured in the hmv store windows across the UK, as well as online at hmv.com, alongside a very British version of our beloved nipper.

Here’s what Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson had to say of the results:

“We’re astonished and delighted to hear The Number of the Beast has been named No.1 in HMV’s Diamond Jubilee survey for the greatest British album category. Some of the most influential and classic albums from the past 60 years were in the running so it’s a testament to our incredibly loyal and ever-supportive fans who voted for us. Here it is ladies and gentleman, the one we’ve all been waiting for (with the exception of the film itself…) the final trailer for the final chapter in the Harry Potter series. I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do with myself when it’s all finished…
