The film centres around 16-year old Hanna (played by the brilliant young talent Ronan) who lives with her father (Eric Bana), an ex-cia man, in the wilderness of North Finland. Having lost her mother in a car crash when she was just a baby, her father Erik raised her alone and taught her how to hunt, to fight and defend herself, and home-schooled her to become incredibly smart, knowing multiple languages with an incredible memory. Ultimately she has been bred as a soldier, the ultimate assassin. And soon it becomes apparent that Erik can no longer protect his daughter, it’s time she learned the truth, leading us on to an intense journey across Europe as we watch Hanna let loose on her first mission, shocked and struggling with the real world and quickly wondering who she can really trust.

With a kick-ass soundtrack provided by The Chemical Brothers, a ruthless Cate Blanchett as an villainous intelligence agent and no shortage of beautiful cinematography, the film - directed by BAFTA winner Joe Wright - has definitely been one of the best of 2011 so far!
