Brand New Image from Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie!

Stop motion,  Frankenweenie will be filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new experience. The film sees young Victor conducting a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to be faced with unintended, sometimes monstrous consequences.

Cannot wait for this movie AND the trailer is premièring  at 6pm UK time tonight- will keep you posted!

Drive - Official Movie Poster

Here’s the brand new poster for Drive the highly anticipated new movie from director Nicolas Winding Refn (Bronson, Valhalla Rising) which has received much praise from critics after winning the award for Best Director at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Starring Ryan Gosling (The Notebook) and Carey Mulligan (Never Let Me Go), the film centres around a Hollywood stunt driver (Gosling) who moonlights as a professional getaway driver for the criminal underworld by night. When a heist goes wrong, he finds some of LA’s most dangerous men hot on his tail and all he can do to keep safe is do what he does best - drive.

If you haven’t seen the movie yet, check out the trailer below! The film centres around 16-year old Hanna (played by the brilliant young talent Ronan) who lives with her father (Eric Bana), an ex-cia man, in the wilderness of North Finland. Having lost her mother in a car crash when she was just a baby, her father Erik raised her alone and taught her how to hunt, to fight and defend herself, and home-schooled her to become incredibly smart, knowing multiple languages with an incredible memory. Ultimately she has been bred as a soldier, the ultimate assassin. And soon it becomes apparent that Erik can no longer protect his daughter, it’s time she learned the truth, leading us on to an intense journey across Europe as we watch Hanna let loose on her first mission, shocked and struggling with the real world and quickly wondering who she can really trust.

With a kick-ass soundtrack provided by The Chemical Brothers, a ruthless Cate Blanchett as an villainous intelligence agent and no shortage of beautiful cinematography, the film - directed by BAFTA winner Joe Wright - has definitely been one of the best of 2011 so far! Make sure you catch it on DVD and Blu-ray (or the hmv exclusive limited edition steelbook version!!) this August!
